I’ve tried countless versions and I saw this version at Keats Eats and I’m not even kidding you when I believe that that I make this current year round. It’s a well known side dish for supper regardless of season or Holiday.

Not only is it ideal for Thanksgiving but Christmas & Easter. Basically any of those Holidays that you have a big family meal. Let’s face it, this no creamed soup green bean casserole should be to the table.

I like green bean casserole with canned green beans. I’ve made countless that involve fresh green beans and not only is it loads of work to prepare the beans, usually they cannot even cook up through. So you’re available crunchy and crisp green beans.

Yield : 10 servings


  • 3 (14.5 oz) cans green beans
  • 5 Tbsp butter
  • 3 Tbsp flour
  • 3/4 cup chicken or vegetable broth
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • salt & pepper, to taste
  • 1 (3 oz) pkg French’s French Fried Onions (or Alton Brown has a homemade version)
